Ooni pizza ovens: the range explained

The short answer
An Ooni pizza oven comes in three families: Karu (wood, charcoal or an optional gas burner), Koda (gas) and Volt (electric). Ooni's US store listed them from $299 to $1,299 on 3 November 2026. 1
The three Ooni families
Ooni sorts its ovens by how they heat. The US store groups them under three fuel headings: multi-fuel, gas and electric. 1
The Karu line is the multi-fuel one. Ooni describes the Karu 2 as an oven where you "Use wood, charcoal or an optional gas burner". 2
The Koda line is gas. Ooni lists the Koda 2 as a "Gas Powered Outdoor Pizza Oven". 1
The Volt 2 is the odd one out. Ooni lists it as an "Electric Indoor Pizza Oven", and it says: "Apart from the Ooni Volt 2, Ooni ovens are designed for the great outdoors." 1 2
Ooni oven prices and sizes
Ooni's US store showed these prices in US dollars on 3 November 2026. The number in each name is the pizza size in inches. 1
Multi-fuel: the Karu 2 Pro (16 inch) was $849. The Karu 2 (12 inch) was $449. The first-generation Karu 12 was on sale at $249, against a regular $349. 1
Gas: the Koda 2 Max (24 inch) was $1,299 and the Koda 2 Pro (18 inch) was $799. The Koda 2 (14 inch) was $499. The first-generation Koda 16 was on sale at $499, against a regular $649. The first-generation Koda 12 was $299. 1
Electric: the Volt 2 (12 inch) was $699. 1

What the maker says about heat and weight
Ooni's Karu 2 page says it "Reaches 950°F and cooks pizzas in just 60 seconds". It lists the oven's weight as "Weight Unboxed 33.6lb". 2
Ooni says the Koda 2 "cooks delicious, Neapolitan-style pizza in just 60 seconds". It adds: "at just 35 lbs, the Koda 2 is compact and ultra-portable." 3
These are the maker's figures, not ours. We haven't cooked on these ovens. Ooni's Koda 2 page gives no first-heat-up time, so we won't guess one.
Which Ooni is right for you?
We can't pick a winner, and no source we checked ranks them. The choice mostly comes down to fuel and pizza size.
Pick the Karu line if you want to burn wood or charcoal, with gas as an add-on. Pick the Koda line if you'd rather run on gas alone. Pick a bigger number if you want a larger pizza, and expect the price to climb with it. 1

How to clean an Ooni
Ooni's cleaning guide is short. For the outside: "To clean the outside of the oven, wipe it with a damp cloth." Then "Dry it immediately and avoid abrasive cleaning products or harsh chemicals." 4
For leftover bits, Ooni says: "Use your Ooni Pizza Oven Brush to remove anything left over." 4
